In October 2014, a Christian couple from Bedfordshire, Adam and Becky May unveiled The Treasure Box People, an innovative resource for families which brings Bible stories into the home through a brand new mailer monthly subscription.
With a background of more than 15 years in children's ministry and 8 years as a primary school teacher, Becky had a seemingly endless supply of art and craft materials and when she married Adam in 2011, Adam discovered he now had access these too!
Since then, Adam has been trying to rediscover the study at home, (which has been lost under the piles of craft supplies) and together, they have been enjoying an adventure in family life both with their young son, Isaac, and the children in the wider family where they have found themselves exploring ways of sharing their faith, particularly at events such as Christmas, Easter and Baptisms.
Through this process, the couple have longed to find other ways to share Bible stories with children in their own family, and other families like theirs through fun, relevant and innovative activities. That's how The Treasure Box People was born.
In October and November 2014, The Treasure Box People had a successful Kickstarter campaign to find the initial funds to bring this product to market. The project was shared to over 400 delegates at the European Puppet Ministry Festival and there was local media attention to promote their idea beyond their friends, family and immediate contact.
The couple launched the first Treasure Boxes at the Hand in Hand Family Ministry Conference in Eastbourne in February 2015.
In September 2017, the little sister of The Treasure Box People, called Tiny Treasure Boxes will be launched.
