The reality is, as all parents quickly discover, that from their first breath, our precious children are learning 'stuff;' where food comes from, what Mummy and Daddy smell like, how to smile, to sit, to walk, to talk, how to negotiate their way through playgroup toy sharing...
In fact, research has shown that learning starts in the womb, and if we can learn physically, emotionally and intellectually, then we are also learning spiritually, right from these very earliest moments of life. This truth is at the heart of our new venture; Tiny Treasures as we seek to help parents and their infants explore Bible stories together in a way that is truly meaningful and enjoyable.
Our eldest child's birth changed our whole world. Most noticeably for me as a first-time mum, was the startling revelation that I knew so little about babies, childhood, life, the universe and everything! I left my role as a primary school teacher, and the comfort zone of my classroom in July 2012, ready to begin our new adventure as mum and despite having worked with children and young people of all ages over many years, I knew least of all about the preschool age group.
So with Isaac's birth, the learning started for both of us as I searched for ways to share stories with him, and later for his baby sister, Keziah and now we want to share some of the ideas we have discovered together, with you and your families.
