Happy New Year and welcome to 2017!
As we start this new year, I am surrounded by the mountains of new toys the children have been given, the still decorated Christmas tree, the half-finished Jesse tree(!), the piles of washing from our New Year weekend away, a heap of happy Christmas memories and hopes and dreams for the year ahead.
It’s been a long, long time since I set any New Year’s resolutions… they were usually broken by this point in the month! But I do find it helpful to take this fresh start to think about making changes and establishing new rhythms in our family life. As our own children grow, I am so very aware that I have only 2 terms left until our son starts school, so time is precious and I intend to make full use of the next few months!
I really am not a creature of routine – creativity and chaos rule! But there can be something comforting, familiar and helpful in establishing family rhythms – lazy Saturday mornings, Friday night takeaway, Sunday morning rush to church(!) and Sunday night TV.
As families, we all seek to find helpful rhythms in sharing our faith together – Bedtime prayers and grace before dinner, Bible stories and church activities but we believe there is so much more we can do together as a family to show our children what it means to live out our faith.
Our prayer for the New Year is that our Treasure Boxes will help more families discover a rhythm of sharing precious Bible stories together, creatively. Whether enjoyed together as a rich ‘once-a-month’ family feast, or dipped into for shared moments, perhaps once a week; Treasure Boxes make your life easy, providing everything you need in the one delivered-to-your-door box and help to take away the panic and pressure attached to ‘how do we share the Bible with our children,’ by creating a sense of excitement and enjoyment in unpacking the Treasure together.
We’ve made some changes to our website this new year to help make life easier for you too; from now on you can sign up once for payments to be taken each month for your monthly delivery. That’s one less thing for you to need to remember!
